Something unique that I can do with my shaper tool is create inlays on the sides or on a horizontal axis instead of the usual vertical inlay seen in most wood working pieces.
The picture on the right is of a milled piece of cottonwood here in Utah. The wood is not completely dry so interesting to see what the results will be. If anything terrible happens I will update but if you don't see any news on this it means that both inlays are doing their job.
Humidity in the wood was bout 15%. Was impatient and wanted to see how this turns out. The inlays were later glued and hammered in which is why they seem to look like they are just sitting on top of the cutout. The wood used for the inlays was oak.
